About the Mary Boykin Chesnut Chapter
The Mary Boykin Chesnut Chapter 2517 was chartered in Columbia, South Carolina on June 22, 1986. The chapter was named for the wife of confederate general, General James Chesnut.
The chapter is part of the Central District UDC in South Carolina which includes chapters in the following counties: Calhoun, Lee, Richland, Kershaw, Fairfield, Clarendon, and Sumter.
Monthly Meetings
Our chapter meets the second tuesday of each month at the Cayce/West Columbia Branch of the Lexington County Library at 7:00. Sometimes we meet off-site for special meetings and gathers/field trips. All UDC meetings begin with the pledges to the United States, South Carolina and Confederate flags; the UDC Ritual; and prayer written by Bishop Ellison Capers.
